Abraham Stern


Abraham is one of the Founding Partners of Lawgical Costa Rica.
Abraham's practice focuses on three broad areas: transactional corporate law, commercial law, and maritime and aeronautical law. He has extensive experience in business structuring and implementation, negotiation rounds and alternative resolution of commercial disputes, as well as in corporate legal compliance, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring. He also has extensive experience in logistics, maritime and aeronautical transportation, and cargo claims and is one of the few lawyers in the area with postgraduate studies in this subject.
In addition to being a lawyer, Abraham is a notary public of the Republic of Costa Rica.
Abraham's client portfolio is mainly made up of companies with a solid presence in Costa Rica, foreign investors,
fruit exporting companies and others.
His clients highlight Abraham as a legal advisor who is accessible at all times, with a quick and efficient response, with a broad sense for negotiating complicated transactional positions, for having a natural instinct to bring the parties together at the negotiating tables, with extensive experience. in company reorganization structures
and for creating multidisciplinary work teams for either transactional or litigation issues.
Prior to being one of the founding partners of Lawgical, Abraham served as a partner in several law firms, such as SHHD Law, Pacheco Coto, Sfera Legal and EY Law. Likewise, he worked for several years at the Chaffe McCall firm in the city of New Orleans.

• He was the lead attorney in the criminal proceedings against Paul Watson, founder of Sea Shepherd, in Costa Rica, which resulted in the dismissal of a process that was active for ten years. In 2018, he managed to lift all precautionary measures against him and remove him from Interpol's red list. Paul Watson today enjoys absolute freedom with respect to the charges that were brought against him and the favorable resolution of the case is considered an unprecedented achievement in the history of Costa Rica.
• He has advised the real estate developer Grupo Solarium for more than fifteen years, during the development of its logistics center, free zones, hotels, offices and housing in the city of Liberia, Guanacaste, on a property with more than one million square meters and an investment that exceeds $250 MM USD.
• Legal advisor and negotiator in bidding and consortium processes for private energy generation in a range greater than 120 megawatts and with investments of + $200 MM USD.
• He has acted as legal director of various real estate development companies and has in his professional career more than two million square meters of properties subject to the condominium regime in Costa Rica with investments of + $600 MM USD.
• Managing attorney and legal advisor of the Nantipa Hotel in Santa Teresa, Puntarenas, being part of the team that established the first five-star hotel in the area.
